MJM Riding School offers march break camp for children age 5 to 15. This is a structured program designed to build strong skills in riding, horsemanship and stable management.
The goal is not only to teach horseback riding in a fun-filled environment but also teaches the importance of respect, responsibility and care towards fellow riders and horses.
Camp starts at 9:00 am and ends at 4 pm. Campers are fully occupied for the entire day and include a one hour formal lesson matching the riders level. Other activities include learning about horse care, feed/nutrition, grooming, tacking, hobby horse games, arts & crafts, indoor/outdoor games and singsongs.
Friday at 2 pm the campers will present a musical ride for parents and friends to watch. All are welcome to attend.
What Campers need:
Campers need to wear long, close fitting pants such as jeans, tights or riding breeches (no shorts or crops), rain boots or other tough boots that cover the ankle with a 1" heel (no running shoes or sandals) and thin gloves. We provide ASTM certified helmets at no charge and ALL riders will be required to wear a helmet when riding or working around horses.
It is highly recommended that you include lots of layered clothing for your child as it can be chilly in the barn. Please pack a peanut free lunch, snacks and lots of water.
Camp costs $60.00 per day / per child. (Includes HST)
No deposit is required. Payment is made upon arrival on the first day of camp. We accept cash or cheque only. Cheques payable to MJM Riding School.
Before and After Care:
Before and after care is available for an extra cost of $5 per hour.
